Kasey Roper

Kasey (she/her) is a queer American poet, writer, and podcast producer. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in the English Department’s Area Program of Poetry Writing (APPW) & the Media Studies Department’s Distinguished Majors Program. Her creative work has been featured in The New York Times (2018), FLUX Poetry & Spoken Word Literary Magazine (2018), and Q* Anthology of Queer Culture (2018), among other places. Her podcasting has been published by UVA’s Media Studies Department, and can be found on their homepage. Kasey has also published news articles in abCD Magazine (2019, 2020), a magazine subsection of UVA’s newspaper The Cavalier Daily. She hopes to publish her debut poetry collection soon.

When she is not working, Kasey is most likely finding pineapples in the most random of places & adding them to her ever-growing collection of pineapple memorabilia. & then writing poems about it, of course. You can also find her hosting board game nights with friends, even though her cat knocks over all of the pieces.
